We hope you will join us for the seventh annual Breaking Bread for Breakthrough luncheon on Wednesday, September 29 at the Fairmont San Francisco. Funds raised from the event will launch thousands of Breakthrough students on the road to a college education and inspire hundreds of outstanding college and high school students to pursue careers in education. 

Our luncheon speaker is nationally recognized economist Dr. Caroline Minter Hoxby, Professor of Economics at Stanford University and Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution. A recipient of the Carnegie Fellowship, the Sloan Fellowship and the Thomas J. Fordham Prize for Distinguished Scholarship, Dr. Hoxby is well-respected in her field. Her expertise on the economics of school choice and the effect of education on economic growth and income inequality relate well with Breakthrough’s mission.

In addition, we will present the Breakthrough Honors award to Gap Inc. for empowering underserved youth in partnership with Breakthrough Collaborative.

Honorary Committee members are the key to our success. Committee members are asked to lend their names to the invitation and program, host a table of ten guests at the dinner if they are able, and make a financial contribution at the Cum Laude level ($2,500), Magna level ($5,000), Summa level ($10,000) or higher.
